and love for pets. Below is a synopsis of the steps we take when hiring a potential Pet Sitter or Dog Walker.
Step 1: Online Application
We require each candidate to fill out an

Step 2: Interview
The interview will take place in our office after you have filled out an online application. You will also be required
to fill out a hard copy application. A Manager of Virginia Pet Sitting Group will conduct this casual interview. At
this time you will discuss in detail your availability and experience. Please do not hesitate to ask questions during
Step 3: Criminal Background and Reference Check
If considered for employment we will perform a criminal background check and a reference check. This step takes a few
days. If we are satisfied with the results we will contact you to schedule training.
Step 4: Training
Training is a fun, relaxed means of seeing what a typical day is like as a professional pet sitter or dog walker. We
will schedule a date and time for you to accompany a veteran pet sitter or dog walker on their jobs. You will get to
meet some great pets and have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the job and our company. As
rewarding and fun as this job is, we realize it is not for everyone. Before either of us commit, we want to make sure
you have a good idea of what is involved.
Step 5: Orientation
After the successful completion of steps 1 – 4, we will invite you to join our pet-loving family! If you like us as
much as we like you, we will schedule an orientation. This takes place in our office and generally takes 1 hour. At
this time we will review our policies and procedures with you. You will also need to review and sign several forms.
Make sure you bring your drivers license, social security card or passport, and a voided check.
